Peter Pan

Written by Adam G Smith

A timeless tale that never grows old! While chasing after his mischievous shadow, Peter Pan encounters the Darling children in their nursery. With a dash of Tinker bell's fairy dust, Wendy, John, and Michael take off on an exhilarating flight to Neverland, leaving behind the flamboyant Nanny Nelly Knuckles—or so they think. In Neverland, they meet the Lost Boys, the enigmatic Native Islanders, and the fearsome Captain Hook, who, alongside his bumbling sidekick Smee, is bent on revenge against Peter Pan, the boy who fed his hand to a tick-tocking crocodile. Packed with laughs and plenty of audience participation, this panto script promises a fun-filled adventure for the whole family! This version keeps the excitement and adds a bit more flair while staying true to the spirit of the original story by J.M Barrie

Wendy: But I am not making it up…well at least I don’t think I am. It was in there!

Nanny: Now then let’s see about this story, Hmm what have we in here. What are these? [holding up some Russian Nesting Dolls]

Wendy: Oh, they are our Russian Dolls!

Nanny: I hate Russian nesting dolls. They`re so full of themselves. Oh, look there are a few books in here. (Grabs a book from the cupboard) here’s one! It’s about a spoilt young prince who is put under a spell by an evil witch who wants to become rich.

Wendy: Oh, what’s that one called again?

Nanny: SPARE: The Prince Harry Autobiography! (Holding the book up)

John: No not that one again!

Nanny: Well, let’s see what else we have in here. Ah here we are! Oh, I like this one! It’s about the cat that caught the flu and went to the pharmacy!

Wendy: What’s that called?

Nanny: Its called Puss in Boots!...No? Ok let’s see what else, ah here we are. This will put you all to sleep in no time.

Micheal: Is it Tom Thumb?

John: Is it Robin Hood?

Wendy: Is it Hansel & Gretel?

Nanny: No but you’re all close… its ‘War and Peace’ by Leo Tolstoy. Now settle down children and I will read.

Nanny Nelly Knuckles treads on a toy on the floor, picks it up and puts it away.

Nanny: Ah, you must stop leaving your toys on the floor my dears, you know it’s a fire hazard!

Michael: A fire hazard?

Nanny: Yes, you will trip over it, I will point and laugh and then get fired. Now then are we all comfortable. [Clears throat as she walks over to chair on the far side of the nursery] ‘’The year is 1812 and Genoa and Lucca are now just family estates of the Buonapartes….’
